A cooperative of Siskiyou County artists in the Siskiyou Arts Council Gallery
The Mountain Arts Cooperative is a program of the Siskiyou Arts Council that supports local artists by offering exhibition space in the SAC Gallery & Cultural Center.
The gallery is located in beautiful downtown Mount Shasta, across from the new Parker Plaza. MAC artists offer a diverse collection of paintings, encaustic pieces, photographs, prints, greeting cards, ceramics, jewelry, sculptures, and installations. Shopping in the Siskiyoiu Arts Council Gallery supports our local economy and provides visitors with pleasant memories and delightful souvenirs from Mount Shasta.
At present the Mountain Arts Cooperative shows new art every six weeks, arranging it together on Friday Mornings.
For 2013, Mountain Arts Cooperative will begin to transition into full use of the gallery space, vs. the current arrangement, which allows for sharing the space equally with solo or other group shows. SAC will hold shows in other locations throughout Siskiyou County to better support artists from all over the county .
Members of MAC attend SAC exhibit openings, volunteer in the gallery and sometimes other locations for a few hours per month, become members of SAC, and pay a small space rental fee. MAC offers the opportunity to show and sell art, meet other art lovers, make artists friends, and learn more about the art world.
